Editorial and Data Policy

Who runs PropMason, where the numbers on our firm pages come from, how our rankings work, and how to report a mistake.

Who we are

PropMason is run by the PropMason Editorial Team. We track the published rules of prop trading firms so traders can compare actual conditions before paying for an account. We do not use individual author names. All pages are built by the team and carry the team byline. If you have questions about anything on the site, reach us directly.

Where the numbers come from

We read each prop firm's own public website directly. We do not pull numbers from third-party databases, and we never use a third-party copy in place of an official page. In our rules tables, every figure comes with a link to the source page and the date we checked it. Where we kept the firm's own sentence, it sits beside the figure. We track the key details traders care about before buying an account:

  • Account sizes, challenge prices, and profit targets
  • Drawdown limits, daily loss limits, consistency rules, and minimum trading days
  • Payout frequency, payout speed, and profit split
  • Trading rules attached to each plan

We re-read tracked firms on a set schedule: daily for some, weekly or monthly for others. The date next to any figure shows exactly when we last verified it. When a firm updates a published rule, we log the new value alongside the old one. We publish these updates on our rules page so you can see what changed and when.

Before an article is published

Before any article goes live, we check every cited number against the firm's current website. If a number no longer matches, we hold the article until it is updated or removed. This rule applies to every article we publish.

Rankings and scores

Our scores come straight from the published rules explained on our methodology page, including category weights and score caps for poor reputation or hidden terms. Commercial relationships never factor into scores. PropMason earns affiliate commissions from some firms, but affiliate links never influence a score or change table rankings. Our affiliate disclosure explains how those links work.

What PropMason does not do

Things you will never see on PropMason:

  • Firms cannot pay for placement. No firm can buy a higher score, a better spot on a table, or a favorable review.
  • We never guess numbers. When terms are not clear enough to verify, we label the row 'Partly verified' or 'Largely unverified' instead of taking numbers from secondary sources.
  • We do not use invented reviewers. All pages carry the team byline; we never assign articles to named experts or a review board.
  • We do not give trading or financial advice. We compare published rules; choosing the right firm is always the trader's call.

Corrections

If you spot a wrong number, email support@propmason.com with the page URL and what needs fixing. We check the data against the firm's live website. When a number is wrong, we update it and reset the check date to the day we confirmed the fix. If a correction changes the main point of an article, we revise the article text as well.
